The Garbage Man, the most recent short film by filmmaker Laura Gonçalves, won three awards at Monstra – Lisbon Animation Festival, which took place between 16 and 27 March.

The film won the Best Portuguese Short Film Award, the SPA/Vasco Granja Award, and the SPA/Vasco Granja Audience Award. The jury awarded the SPA/Vasco Granja Prize to The Garbage Man for its “graphic and poetic characteristics, but also for its ability to transform the simple and familiar of our daily lives into a universal feeling”.
